The Irish Critical Care Clinical Trials Network, ICC-CTN, has launched their annual call for the Early Career Researcher Seed funding Awards, ECR-SFA. Launched in 2023, the ICC-CTN opens an annual call for this awards scheme which is currently planned for 4 years. After two successful years, this has been extended to include Medical students who are currently or are planning to begin a PI supported study in the field of critical care research.
This initiative aligns with a major ICC-CTN strategic objective to be a centre supporting researchers and supports the development of future trialists in this field.
This year, there will be 3 awardees,:
· 1 Clinical Research
· 1 ECR Nursing / Allied Health
· 1 Trials Methodology
To the value of €10,000, €5,000 and €5,000, respectively.
We strongly encourage students working on critical care research on the island of Ireland to apply. This funding is aimed to aid early career researchers and encourage future trialists.
We encourage students to read the guidance document, eligibility criteria and application forms attached.
Applicants must have a CTN PI supported project in place which funding will aid.
The call will close on the 17th of April. Applications will then undergo eligibility checks and will be reviewed by independent expert panelists. Successful applicants will be notified in May.
The 3 awardees will be publicly announced at the annual ICC-CTN Scientific meeting on the 10th of June 2025 in Titanic Belfast. Awardees must be available to present their proposed project at this meeting.
